Check your game's box or manual for this information. If you have an earlier version of the SideWinder Game Controller software, it is not necessary to remove it before installing SideWinder Game Controller software 3.02 unless you want to install a different language than you were using previously. Try what I told you, it may work.If you have one of the following SideWinder devices, make sure you have version 3.02 of the SideWinder software: FreeStyle Pro, Game Pad, Force Feedback Pro, Precision Pro, Standard, and Force Feedback Wheel. I'm using the whell as well on XP with no problems and the standard driver, but I have an Sound Blaster Creative Sound card that was releasd before the whell was releasd. Or take it from the sourece: the whell is pluged in the sound card so you have to use an old sound card (better if you use a creative sound card) or instal a verry old driver for the sound card(if you find one). no bugs, but it takes a lot of time to instal both windows and parallel them. so you install the driver on win 98 and use it on XP. 1 part two: for advanced users only: instal dual boot with win 98 and XP and select parallel win usage. First part: you can instal win 98 or 2000 and upgrade it to win XP. There are 2 (two) ways of solving the problem: 1. Many friends use the Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback Whell on XP (any type of XP or XP service pack) and it runs with no problems.
